A writer first, and I turned my love of using typewriters — because they’re distraction-free, beautiful, and satisfying — into your source for working, portable manual machines made between about 1950 and 1980. DTW has proudly sold and shipped over 350 since 2021, and you can read the many glowing reviews on Etsy.

DTW is also happy to add a typewriter wow-factor to your event by offering our typewriter barista packages, which include a DTW typist creating cards, guest books, or messages on your choice of beautiful typewriters and stationery. DTW also does hands on typewriter presentations and type-ins.

Why are DTW’s typewriters special? They’re beautiful, they work, and I describe their quirks if any exist. A custom how-to video comes with each, and I am an expert at safely packing these fragile machines for shipping. But, as a writer, I also love to preserve their history and personality by naming each typewriter after its previous owner and sharing a little bit of the back story of how that owner used it. From handy housewives to Detroit auto execs to eager high school newspaper editors or returning GIs, the people who’ve owned the machines are as fascinating as the machines themselves.
